The areas affected include... Waters from Cape Fear NC to Little River Inlet SC from 20 to 40 nm... Waters from Surf City to Cape Fear NC from 20 to 40 nm... At 831 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated a strong thunderstorm, capable of producing winds to around 30 knots and small hail. This thunderstorm was located near Wreck 33, moving east at 45 knots. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Mariners can expect gusty winds to around 30 knots, locally higher waves, and lightning strikes. Boaters should seek safe harbor immediately until this storm passes. If caught on the open water, prepare for deteriorating conditions.
