...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT NEW HANOVER...SOUTHWESTERN
PENDER AND NORTHEASTERN BRUNSWICK COUNTIES THROUGH 615 PM EDT...

At 544 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over
Wrightsboro, or near Leland, moving east at 30 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
         possible.

Locations impacted include...
Wilmington, Leland, Wrightsville Beach, Rich Inlet, North Masonboro
Island, Figure Eight Island, Hampstead, Northwest, Topsail Beach,
Hightsville, Cape Fear Community College North Campus, Wilmington
International Airport, Murrayville, Masonboro, Castle Hayne,
University Of North Carolina At Wilmington, Phoenix, Scotts Hill,
Ogden, and Mayfaire.

This includes the following highways...
 Interstate 40 between mile markers 412 and 416.
 Interstate 140 between mile markers 15 and 20.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Continuous cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Move indoors immediately. Lightning is one of nature`s leading
killers. Remember, if you can hear thunder, you are close enough to
be struck by lightning.
