...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT VERMILION AND EASTERN CHAMPAIGN
COUNTIES THROUGH 945 AM CDT...

At 912 AM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near
St. Joseph, or 7 miles northeast of Urbana, moving northeast at 40
mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and nickel size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
         possible.

Locations impacted include...
Champaign, Urbana, Danville, Rantoul, Hoopeston, St. Joseph,
Westville, Tilton, Catlin, Oakwood, Philo, Rossville, Sidney, Homer,
Thomasboro, Gifford, Ogden, Potomac, Fairmount, and Rankin.

This includes the following highways...
 Interstate 57 between mile markers 244 and 245.
 Interstate 74 between mile markers 182 and 220.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.
