Fire Weather Planning Forecast For Extreme Southeast Arkansas,
Northeast Louisiana, and Central Mississippi
National Weather Service Jackson MS
305 PM CDT Thu May 23 2024

.DISCUSSION...Chances for numerous showers and scattered storms
will persists across the area into the upcoming weekend,
particularly across northern districts where a stationary frontal
boundary resides. During this time, disturbances traversing this
boundary will combine with the warm and unstable airmass over the
region, resulting in showers and storms affecting the area during
the afternoon and evening hours. A few severe storms will be
possible over northern districts during this time, with damaging
wind gusts and hail the primary concern with the most intense
storms. Heavy rain and frequent lightning strikes will also be
possible during this time. Patchy fog will also be possible across
the area, but namely Southeast Mississippi each morning.
