517 WGUS83 KJKL 222151 FLSJKL Flood Advisory National Weather Service Jackson KY 551 PM EDT Wed May 22 2024 KYC199-203-230100- /O.NEW.KJKL.FA.Y.0024.240522T2151Z-240523T0100Z/ /00000.N.ER.000000T0000Z.000000T0000Z.000000T0000Z.OO/ Pulaski KY-Rockcastle KY- 551 PM EDT Wed May 22 2024 ...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 9 PM EDT THIS EVENING... * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...A portion of south central Kentucky, including the following counties, Pulaski and Rockcastle. * WHEN...Until 900 PM EDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 550 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 3 inches of rain have fallen with locally higher amounts. UP to 4 inches of rainfall was reported near Shopville. - Additional rainfall amounts of 0.2 to 0.7 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Science Hill, Bobtown, Woodstock, Dabney, Valley Oak, Bandy, Shopville, Willailla, Level Green, Hansford, Bloss, Hogue, Pongo, Stab, Luner, Magnum, Pulaski and Eubank.
