...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT SOUTHWESTERN LAUREL...
SOUTHEASTERN PULASKI...NORTHEASTERN MCCREARY AND NORTHWESTERN WHITLEY
COUNTIES THROUGH 800 PM EDT...

At 727 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near
Alpine, or 13 miles southeast of Somerset, moving northeast at 25
mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects.

Locations impacted include...
Holly Bay Rec. Area, Grade, Huxley, Baldrock, Mount Victory,
Rockcastle Springs, Bent, Bunch, Hightop, Keavy, Vox, Bark Camp,
Grove, and Billows.

THIS INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING HIGHWAYS...
 Kentucky Highway 80 in Laurel County near mile marker 1.
 Kentucky Highway 80 in Pulaski County between mile markers 35 and
40.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 800 PM EDT for
south central Kentucky.
