.DISCUSSION...
Issued at 1042 AM EDT Thu May 23 2024

The weather has quieted down from the overnight and ample sunshine
is returning across the Florida Keys this morning. In fact KBYX
shows no showers in our immediate CWA. There are however, a
multitude of residual boundaries that are still lingering across
the area. The good news (depending on how you perceive) is that
we have low level ridging in place that will provide quite a bit
of subsidence for all but the most robust boundary collision.
Meanwhile, temperatures are quickly responding to the lack of
cloud cover out at the moment and seeing values ranging from the
mid to upper 80s with dew points in the lower to mid 70s.

Given the relatively drier air filtering in behind this morning`s
shower activity coupled with the subsidence in low levels, this
will suppress much in the way of additional shower activity. As
such, will maintain only slight chance PoPs (10 percent) through
the remainder of the day. Otherwise, ridge placement means that
easterly winds will prevail through the day and temperatures are
on track to reach near 90 degrees this afternoon.

.MARINE...
Issued at 1042 AM EDT Thu May 23 2024

High pressure will remain the dominant pattern,
allowing for an extended period of light to gentle east to
southeast breezes through the end of the week. During the later
half of Sunday, breezes will clock to a southeasterly to south
direction and modestly freshen as the high pressure shifts its
position.

.AVIATION...
(15Z TAFS)
Issued at 1042 AM EDT Thu May 23 2024

VFR conditions will prevail through the TAF period at both island
terminals. A previous BKN cloud deck has eroded and moved away
leaving FEW025 at both EYW and MTH. Near surface winds will be east
to southeast at 5 to 10 knots.
