...FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 530 PM CDT THIS
AFTERNOON FOR CALCASIEU AND SOUTH CENTRAL JEFFERSON DAVIS PARISHES
AND SOUTHEASTERN JASPER, SOUTHWESTERN NEWTON AND NORTHEASTERN ORANGE
COUNTIES...

At 258 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy
rain across the warned area. Between 1 and 4 inches of rain have
fallen. The expected rainfall rate is 1 to 3 inches in 1 hour.
Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches are possible in the
warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.

HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing
         flash flooding.

SOURCE...Radar.

IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams,
         urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses.

Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Lake Charles, Sulphur, Orange, Westlake, Vinton, Iowa, Starks,
  Moss Bluff, Lake Charles Regional Airport, Deweyville,
  Mauriceville, Buna, Hayes, Edgerly, Carlyss, Buhler, Lunita,
  Toomey, Forest Heights and Hartburg.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
