...STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WILL IMPACT RAPIDES AND VERNON PARISHES
THROUGH MIDNIGHT CDT...

At 1103 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from 9 miles south of Winnfield to near Flatwoods to
6 miles north of Hornbeck. Movement was southeast at 45 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects.

Locations impacted include...
Alexandria, Pineville, De Ridder, Leesville, Rosepine, Glenmora,
Boyce, Anacoco, Alexandria International Airport, Slagle, Hineston,
Lena, Fort Johnson, Pitkin, Ball, New Llano, Colfax, Lecompte,
Hornbeck, and Tioga.

This includes Interstate 49 between mile markers 63 and 109.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

These storms may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio
stations and available television stations for additional information
and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.
