Open Lake Forecast for Lake Huron

For waters beyond five nautical miles off shore on Lake Huron

Waves are the significant wave height - the average of the highest
1/3 of the wave spectrum. Occasional wave height is the average of
the highest 1/10 of the wave spectrum.

.SYNOPSIS...Surface high pressure builds in between a low over
Quebec, 29.50 inches, and a deeper low, 29.30 inches, over the
Upper Midwest. A secondary surface low develops along a cold
front late Friday into Saturday which presents an opportunity for
thunderstorm development that peaks in coverage Saturday morning.
An occluded low, 29.20 inches, then tracks across Wisconsin and
into The UP Sunday night and Monday with additional opportunities
for showers and thunderstorms. Cooler post-frontal conditions
expected for the middle of next week.

.REST OF TODAY...Northwest winds 5 to 10 knots late in the
morning becoming light and variable. Waves 2 feet or less.
.TONIGHT...Southeast winds 5 to 10 knots becoming east 15 to
20 knots. A chance of showers after midnight. Waves 1 to 3 feet
building to 2 to 4 feet after midnight.
.SATURDAY...East winds 10 to 15 knots becoming southeast 5 to
10 knots in the late morning and afternoon. Showers likely in the
morning. Waves 3 to 5 feet subsiding to 2 to 4 feet early in the
afternoon.
.SATURDAY NIGHT...North winds 5 to 10 knots until early morning
becoming light and variable. Waves 1 to 3 feet.
.SUNDAY...North winds 5 to 10 knots veering to the southeast late
in the morning...then becoming east 10 to 15 knots late in the
afternoon. A chance of showers late in the afternoon. Rain
showers likely and a chance of thunderstorms late in the evening.
Waves 2 feet or less building to 2 to 4 feet late in the evening.
.MONDAY...East winds 15 to 20 knots veering to the west in the
late evening and early morning. Showers likely and a chance of
thunderstorms early in the morning...then a chance of showers
until early morning. Waves 3 to 5 feet.
.TUESDAY...West winds 15 to 20 knots. A chance of showers. Waves
4 to 6 feet. Waves occasionally around 8 feet.

until early morning. A chance of showers. Waves 3 to 5 feet.
