...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 815 PM CDT THIS EVENING...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...A portion of southeast Louisiana, including the following
  parishes, Jefferson, St. Charles and St. John The Baptist.

* WHEN...Until 815 PM CDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 508 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
    thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
    shortly in the advisory area.
  - Rainfall rates of around 2 to 4 inches per hour may be
    possible, leading to areas of minor flooding. An upgrade to a
    Flash Flood Warning may be possible in the advisory area.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Hahnville, Laplace, Destrehan, New Sarpy, Norco, Taft,
    Boutte, Luling, St. Rose, Ama, Montz, Paradis, Killona, Bayou
    Gauche and Edgard.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
