Lake Pontchartrain and Lake Maurepas... At 536 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated a strong thunderstorm, capable of producing winds to around 30 knots and small hail. This thunderstorm was located 9 nm south of Manchac, moving northeast at 10 knots. Mariners can expect gusty winds to around 30 knots, locally higher waves, small hail and dangerous lightning strikes.
