...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT PORTIONS OF SOUTHWESTERN ST.
JOHN THE BAPTIST, SOUTHEASTERN ST. JAMES, WEST CENTRAL ST. CHARLES
AND NORTH CENTRAL LAFOURCHE PARISHES THROUGH 315 PM CDT
...

At 237 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm
capable of producing a waterspout over marine areas 7 miles southwest
of Killona, or 9 miles west of Hahnville, moving northwest at 10 mph.

HAZARD...Waterspouts and winds in excess of 40 mph.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Waterspouts can easily overturn boats and create locally
hazardous waters. Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs
         and blow around unsecured objects.

Locations impacted include...
Wallace, North Vacherie, South Vacherie, Chackbay, Edgard, and
Garyville.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

If on or near marine areas, get out of the water and move indoors or
inside a vehicle. Remember, lightning can strike out to 10 miles from
the parent thunderstorm. If you can hear thunder, you are close
enough to be struck by lightning. Move to safe shelter now! Do not be
caught on the water in a thunderstorm.
