536 FZUS63 KMKX 250145 GLFLM OPEN LAKE FORECAST for Lake Michigan National Weather Service Milwaukee/Sullivan WI 845 PM CDT Fri May 24 2024 FOR WATERS BEYOND FIVE NAUTICAL MILES OF SHORE ON Lake Michigan. Waves are provided as a range of significant wave heights, which is the average of the highest 1/3 of the wave, along with the average height of the highest 10% of the waves which will occasionally be encountered. .SYNOPSIS... Low pressure around 29.4 inches will continue to slowly lift through northern Minnesota into far southern Manitoba tonight. Southeasterly winds across the southern half of the lake and easterly winds across the northern half will continue into late tonight before a cold front shifts winds to west northwesterly late tonight into Saturday morning. High pressure around 29.9 inches will then move across Lake Michigan Saturday afternoon and evening, bringing light southerly winds, before another low pressure area around 29.4 inches approaches from the west and moves across either central or northern Lake Michigan Sunday night. Expect southeasterly winds to increase as this low approaches. Numerous showers and thunderstorms will move across the lake tonight and once again Sunday and Sunday night.
