...A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 430 PM CDT
FOR PIKE COUNTY IN WEST CENTRAL ILLINOIS AND NORTHWESTERN PIKE
COUNTIES IN NORTHEASTERN MISSOURI...
At 400 PM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
extending from near Griggsville to near Pittsfield to near Atlas to
near Louisiana, moving east at 40 mph.
HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to
roofs, siding, and trees.
Locations impacted include...
Pittsfield, Louisiana, Griggsville, Pleasant Hill, Atlas, Pike,
Independence, Bedford, Montezuma, Martinsburg, Nebo, Milton, Pearl,
New Salem, Detroit, El Dara, Florence, Time, Valley City, and New
Hartford.
This includes Interstate 72 between exits 31 and 35.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.
Torrential rainfall is occurring with these storms, and may lead to
flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
