The National Weather Service in Sterling Virginia has issued a

* Special Marine Warning for...
  Chesapeake Bay from Sandy Point to North Beach MD...
  Eastern Bay...

* Until 445 PM EDT.

* At 237 PM EDT, strong thunderstorms were located along a line
  extending from 8 nm northwest of Key Bridge to 9 nm west of
  Alexandria to 10 nm northwest of Quantico, moving east at 25 knots.

  HAZARD...Wind gusts 34 knots or greater and small hail.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated.

  IMPACT...Boaters in small craft could be thrown overboard by
           suddenly higher winds and waves capsizing their vessel.

* Strong thunderstorms will be near...
  Mayo, Shady Side, Deale, and Highland Beach around 345 PM EDT.
  Chesapeake Bay Bridge, Thomas Point Light, and Sandy Point State
  Park around 350 PM EDT.
  Matapeake and Bloody Point Light around 355 PM EDT.
  Poplar Island and Romancoke around 400 PM EDT.
  Parsons Island and Eastern Bay around 405 PM EDT.
  Miles River around 415 PM EDT.

Other locations impacted by strong thunderstorms include Romancoke
and Highland Beach.

expected.
