Fire Weather Planning Forecast for West Texas/Southeast New Mexico
National Weather Service Midland/Odessa TX
943 PM CDT Thu May 23 2024

.DISCUSSION...

Overnight relative humidity recovery will range from poor across
Southeast New Mexico to good across the eastern Permian Basin.
Elevated conditions are possible again on Friday as heat and low
relative humidity values persist. Critical fire weather
conditions are expected Saturday as winds increase across the
mountains and adjacent plains. The forecast looks to remain hot
and dry until some relief arrives Tuesday and Wednesday.
