The National Weather Service in Newport has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for...
  Central Hyde County in eastern North Carolina...
  South central Tyrrell County in eastern North Carolina...

* Until 815 PM EDT.

* At 741 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Swindell
  Fork, or 33 miles north of Cedar Island, moving southeast at 15
  mph.

  HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated.

  IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage
           to roofs, siding, and trees.

* Locations impacted include...
  Swindell Fork, Fairfield, Gull Rock, New Holland, Rose Bay,
  Nebraska, Lake Landing, Middletown, Lake Mattamuskeet, and Swan
  Quarter Ferry Terminal.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.
