.Discussion...
Higher coverage of showers and storms is forecast today, especially
south of Orlando, as a front stalls across north Florida. Scattered
showers and thunderstorms will be possible, mainly this afternoon.
Westerly winds prevail today, though will see winds back east to
southeast this afternoon as the sea breeze develops, but remains
pinned near the coast. High mixing heights will lead to another
day of excellent dispersion, with control issues likely. Hot
afternoon temperatures in the mid to upper 90s will help support
min RH values generally between 35 to 45 percent.
By Wednesday, hot afternoon temperatures continue. However, drier
air as the cold front moves southward will lead to a reduction in
rain chances and critical min RH over the interior. Rain chances
tomorrow will be confined to areas south of Melbourne and only
around 20 to 30 percent. Lightning storms will be possible. Min RH
as low as 25 to 35 percent is expected for interior counties, while
coastal areas remain above35 percent. Excellent dispersion is
forecast once again, continuing control issues. Northerly winds
early in the day will become onshore into the afternoon.
Fog potential and other remarks...Widespread fog is not forecast.
Localized visibility reductions due to smoke from new or existing
fires will be possible even if fog is not forecast.
