.Discussion...
A weak area of high pressure will remain situated across the
Florida peninsula today into Sunday. Sensitive fire weather
conditions are forecast to continue primarily due to warm
temperatures across east central Florida causing minimum RH values
to remain in the 35 to 45 percent range across the interior.
Winds are forecast to remain below 15 mph, generally out of the
west-southwest. This afternoon, the east coast sea breeze is
forecast to develop and move inland, with the sea breeze collision
across east central Florida leading to isolated to scattered
showers and isolated thunderstorm development. Showers and storms
will move offshore, with activity diminishing overnight. The sea
breeze will develop and push inland again on Sunday, though drier
air may limit shower and storms development. The best chances for
any shower and storm development will primarily remain south of
the Orlando metro and the Cape Sunday afternoon. Afternoon smoke
dispersion will be very good to excellent this afternoon, and very
good on Sunday.
Afternoon temperatures will continue on a warming trend this weekend
into the start of next week. Highs will generally climb into the mid
to upper 90s across the interior, with temperatures reaching the low
to mid 90s along the coast. Peak heat indices will range between 100
to 107, so be sure to take frequent breaks in the shade and remain
hydrated.
Fog potential and other remarks...Widespread fog is not forecast.
However, localized visibility reductions due to smoke from new or
existing fires will be possible even if fog is not forecast.
