.Discussion...
High pressure remains in control over the western Atlantic. Fire
sensitive conditions are expected to continue today with a
moderate drought over much of east central Florida, as well as
minimum RH values in the upper 30s to low 40s across Lake, western
Orange, western Osceola, and western Okeechobee counties. Fire
sensitive weather will continue through the workweek and increase
into this weekend. Mostly dry weather is forecast today, although
isolated showers and a few lighting strikes are possible (PoPs ~
20-30%) over the interior and the Treasure Coast into this
afternoon and early evening. Wednesday will be similar with
slightly higher diurnally driven shower and lighting storm
chances in the afternoon and early evening (PoPs ~30-40%).
Onshore easterly flow will persist with east winds increasing to
10-15mph with gusts to 20-25mph in the afternoon today and
tomorrow. Onshore flow will become less predominate late week as
west- southwest flow increases and an upper level disturbance
tracks across east central Florida. Shower and lighting storm
chance increase on Thursday with scattered showers and lighting
storms in the afternoon. The main hazards associated with
lightning storms will be occasional to frequent lightning strikes
and gusty winds. Afternoon highs in the mid 80s to low 90s near
the coast and low to mid 90s inland are forecast to increase into
the 90s mid to late week with heat index values as high as 100-108
degrees Thursday and Friday. Dispersion values are expected to be
Generally Good to Very Good.
Fog potential and other remarks..widespread fog is not expected.
Localized visibility reductions due to smoke from new or existing
fires will be possible even if fog is not forecast.
