...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT NORTHEASTERN UNICOI AND
SOUTHWESTERN CARTER COUNTIES THROUGH 645 PM EDT...

At 556 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 7
miles southwest of Hampton, or 9 miles east of Erwin, moving north at
20 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and penny size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
         possible.

Locations impacted include...
Johnson City, Elizabethton, Central, Pine Crest, Hampton, Unicoi,
Watauga, Milligan College, Limestone Cove, and Hunter.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 900 PM EDT for
east Tennessee.
