...STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WILL IMPACT NORTHEASTERN LEE...CENTRAL SCOTT
AND WISE COUNTIES AND THE CITY OF NORTON THROUGH 430 AM EDT...

At 337 AM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from Baker to Jonesville. Movement was east at 35
mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph and penny size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
         possible.

Locations impacted include...
Norton, Wise, Big Stone Gap, Pennington Gap, Coeburn, Appalachia,
Pound, Dungannon, St. Charles, and Duffield.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

These storms may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio
stations and available television stations for additional information
and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.
