...A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 345 AM EDT
FOR SOUTHEASTERN CLAIBORNE...NORTHEASTERN KNOX...SOUTHEASTERN UNION
AND WESTERN GRAINGER COUNTIES...

At 330 AM EDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
extending from 6 miles northeast of Rutledge to near Knoxville,
moving east at 35 mph.

HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and penny size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees.

Locations impacted include...
Knoxville, Rutledge, Plainview, Strawberry Plains, Blaine, Luttrell,
House Mountain State Park, Lone Mountain, Maloneyville, and Mascot.

This includes Interstate 40 in Tennessee between mile markers 390 and
402.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 600 AM EDT for east
Tennessee.

Remain alert for a possible tornado! Tornadoes can develop quickly
from severe thunderstorms. If you spot a tornado go at once into the
basement or small central room in a sturdy structure.

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.

Torrential rainfall is occurring with these storms, and may lead to
flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
