...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 515 PM EDT THIS AFTERNOON...

* WHAT...Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive
  rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...A portion of southern Connecticut, including the following
  counties, Fairfield and New Haven.

* WHEN...Until 515 PM EDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
  Ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is
  imminent.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 341 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated a slow moving line of
    showers and thunderstorms producing heavy rainfall.This
    additional rain will result in minor flooding.
  - Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are expected
    over the area. Localized higher amounts are possible due to
    training over the same area. This additional rain will result
    in minor flooding.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Bridgeport, Norwalk, Milford, Shelton, Fairfield, Stratford,
    Trumbull, Westport, Ridgefield, Monroe, Wilton, Orange,
    Derby, Weston, Redding, Woodbridge, Georgetown and Easton.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law
enforcement and request they pass this information to the National
Weather Service when you can do so safely.
