.DISCUSSION...
Near-critical fire weather conditions are expected Monday due to
dry conditions and increasing strong winds. Typical light, diurnal
winds are favored through the overnight period tonight before
southerly winds begin increasing around 8AM-9AM with gusts through
the rest of the morning climbing upwards of 15-20 mph. Winds will
further strengthen going into the afternoon Monday with
directions becoming southwesterly around noon. Gusts are expected
to climb to around 25-35 mph during the afternoon with a few
gusts to around 40 mph briefly possible as a cold front sweeps
through during the early afternoon hours. A light shower or a few
sprinkles will be possible in the afternoon as the front pushes
through the area, but no accumulation is expected at this time.
Strong, gusty winds taper off Monday evening with speeds mostly
falling under 10 mph. Breezy south to southwest winds are favored
Tuesday with afternoon gusts to around 20 mph. Min RHs will be
around 15% Monday before falling to around 10% Tuesday, while Max
RHs tonight will be around 25-30% and Monday night will be around
35-40%. Afternoon highs will be in the mid to upper 80s the next
couple of days.
