Hydrometeorological Discussion
National Weather Service / California Nevada RFC / Sacramento CA
620 AM PDT Wed Jun 5 2024

...ABOVE NORMAL TEMPS CONTINUE THROUGH THE PERIOD PEAKING WED/THU...
...RATHER SCATTERED CONVECTION POSSIBLE EACH AFTERNOON/EARLY EVE...

.METEOROLOGICAL CONDITIONS (WED AM - TUE AM)...

Warmest to hottest temperatures of the season across much of the
area today with anomalies expected to run between plus 10- and plus
20-degF as high pressure encompasses much of the western US today
and then again tomorrow before sliding downstream a bit and
weakening. For Friday into the weekend...weak troffing will make its
way toward the west coast...bringing some relief from the heat.
However...into early next week as the feature splits and eventually
forms a cutoff low off the southern CA coast with the southern
piece. It is now looking like another upr ridge will then build
across the west coast for the beginning to middle of next week.

Although widespread convection is not looking to be an issue through
the weekend...there will be some rather scattered build ups over the
Sierra crest and point east across NV.
