833 AGUS76 KRSA 231339 HMDRSA Hydrometeorological Discussion National Weather Service / California Nevada RFC / Sacramento CA 640 AM PDT Thu May 23 2024 ...SCATTERED PRECIP WITH COOLER TEMPS POSSIBLE FRI INTO SAT... ...WARMING INTO NEXT WEEK... .METEOROLOGICAL CONDITIONS (THU AM - WED AM)... Northwest to west flow aloft is the rule across the region as a system moves from the Pacific Northwest toward the northern Rockies this morning...while an upr ridge is situated offshore with its axis generally between 150W and 160W. Then into tomorrow...another disturbance will move from the Gulf of Alaska toward the west coast with a bit more of an impact for the region in terms of cooler temperatures and scattered precip for portions of the upper Klamath River basin...northeast CA Plateau down to the northern Sierra...and the northern/eastern portions of NV. This will continue into Saturday...in particular the Humboldt River basin...as the s/wv trof slides to the east across the Intermountain West. For next week...an upr ridge will start to build across the region...halted temporarily by a system moving toward BC and the Pacific Northwest on Tuesday...before heights continue to rise for the latter half of next week. Overall...temperatures will cool to below normal for Friday into Saturday and then rebound closer to normal by Sunday before starting to warm up above normal for much of next week.
