Hydrometeorological Discussion
National Weather Service / California Nevada RFC / Sacramento CA

...SCATTERED PRECIP WITH COOLER TEMPS POSSIBLE FRI INTO SAT...
...WARMING INTO NEXT WEEK...

.METEOROLOGICAL CONDITIONS (THU AM - WED AM)...

Northwest to west flow aloft is the rule across the region as a
system moves from the Pacific Northwest toward the northern Rockies
this morning...while an upr ridge is situated offshore with its axis
generally between 150W and 160W. Then into tomorrow...another
disturbance will move from the Gulf of Alaska toward the west coast
with a bit more of an impact for the region in terms of cooler
temperatures and scattered precip for portions of the upper Klamath
River basin...northeast CA Plateau down to the northern Sierra...and
the northern/eastern portions of NV. This will continue into
Saturday...in particular the Humboldt River basin...as the s/wv trof
slides to the east across the Intermountain West.

For next week...an upr ridge will start to build across the
region...halted temporarily by a system moving toward BC and the
Pacific Northwest on Tuesday...before heights continue to rise for
the latter half of next week.

Overall...temperatures will cool to below normal for Friday into
Saturday and then rebound closer to normal by Sunday before starting
to warm up above normal for much of next week.
