Mount Rainier Recreational Forecast

.SYNOPSIS...Scattered showers with embedded thunder possible
across Mount Rainier National Park today. Weak high pressure will
move across the region Thursday and Friday with warmer and drier
conditions. Increasing confidence for multiple rounds of rainfall
as a series of frontal systems move across the region this
weekend and into the early portion of next week. Heavy snow will
be possible at Camp Muir and the summit with snow levels remaining
high.

.IMPACTS...Strong winds near the summit will make it difficult to
move safely and could produce local whiteout conditions. A high
level of skill and experience in alpine terrain, including use of
GPS, is recommended for navigation and camping in these
conditions.

.WEDNESDAY...Breezy. Mostly cloudy. A chance of showers in the
morning, then showers, snow showers and a slight chance of
thunderstorms in the afternoon. Snow accumulation near Paradise
up to 1 inch. Snow level near 4500 feet.
.WEDNESDAY NIGHT...Breezy. Mostly cloudy with a chance of
showers, snow showers and a slight chance of thunderstorms in the
evening, then partly cloudy with a slight chance of showers after
midnight. Snow level near 4500 feet.
.THURSDAY...Mostly sunny. Freezing level near 5000 feet
increasing to 7000 feet in the afternoon.
