A National Weather Service storm survey concluded that an an EF-1
tornado with peak wind speeds around 100 mph started 5 miles
southwest of Bendavis in eastern Wright County and tracked east
until lifting 7 miles southwest of Houston in Texas County. The
tornado traveled a distance of 13 miles with a maximum width of
400 yards. The tornado caused extensive tree damage with numerous
trees uprooted or snapped. Five outbuildings were heavily damaged
or destroyed with one home sustaining roof damage.
