The National Weather Service in Springfield has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for...
  Eastern Crawford County in southeastern Kansas...
  Western Barton County in southwestern Missouri...
  South central Vernon County in west central Missouri...

* Until 545 PM CDT.

* At 506 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located over Girard,
  moving east at 40 mph.

  HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and half dollar size hail.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated.

  IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage
           to roofs, siding, and trees.

* Locations impacted include...
  Pittsburg, Prairie State Park, Lamar, Frontenac, Girard, Arma,
  Liberal, Sheldon, Mulberry, Mindenmines, Franklin, Arcadia,
  Bronaugh, Lamar Heights, Burgess, Beulah, Croweburg, Yale, Hannon,
  and Oakton.

This includes Interstate 49 between mile markers 57 and 70, and
between mile markers 76 and 82.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.

A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 1000 PM CDT for southeastern
Kansas...and southwestern and west central Missouri.
