The National Weather Service in Shreveport has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Central Nacogdoches County in eastern Texas...
  Northern San Augustine County in eastern Texas...
  Shelby County in eastern Texas...
  Southeastern Cherokee County in northeastern Texas...

* Until 145 AM CDT.

* At 1051 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
  heavy rain across the warned area. Between 2 and 4 inches of rain
  have fallen. The expected rainfall rate is 0.5 to 1 inch in 1
  hour. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible in
  the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
  shortly.

  HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated.

  IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban
           areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as
           other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Nacogdoches, Center, San Augustine, Tenaha, Timpson, Garrison,
  Joaquin, Wells, Martinsville, Melrose, Woden, Neuville, Bland
  Lake, Shelbyville, Patroon, Forest, Morrill, Appleby, Chireno and
  Huxley.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
