.DISCUSSION...
Finally made it to the last day of the month, another wet day in
many cases, especially over E TX this morning. Most locales are
running anywhere from a half to foot above average for the year,
with Shreveport taking the cake at nearly 19 inches above average
for what has been every bit of an El Nino event. That has changed
on the surface with a cooling tropical Pacific, but the westerlies
will take more summer heat to wind down completely. We are still
seeing this latest run of NW flow bringing round after round of
thunderstorms. We have cooled down after yesterday late and the
system moving out of central TX this morning is really weakening
pulling into our still rain-cooled skies. However, daytime
heating will reinvigorate this upper low will more coverage this
afternoon east of I-49 and still for Toledo Bend country and
across portions of deep east Texas. Things do look to dry out this
weekend and get back to average summer heat.
