.DISCUSSION...
An unsettled weather pattern will continue for the next few days, as showers
and thunderstorms increase this afternoon and evening across Northeast Texas
and Southwest Arkansas, before eventually spreading to the I-20 corridor of
East Texas and North Louisiana this evening. Some of these storms may become
severe, with large hail, damaging winds, and heavy rainfall possible. These
storms should diminish late tonight, with patchy fog possible especially in
areas that receive rain. Hot and humid conditions will return Thursday, with
the potential for scattered showers and thunderstorms again by mid and late
afternoon over Northeast Texas, Southeast Oklahoma, Southwest Arkansas, and
possibly extreme Northern Louisiana. Some of these storms may again be severe,
persisting through the evening before diminishing late. Showers and storms may
become more isolated Friday into the holiday weekend, although hot and humid
conditions will persist as temperatures climb into the lower and mid 90s.
A weak cool front will move into the area Monday, which should help take a
slight edge of the heat, resulting in temperatures returning to near normal.
Drier conditions will return to the region as well in wake of the frontal
passage.
