...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 5 PM AST THIS AFTERNOON...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...Aguada, Aguadilla, Anasco, Arecibo, Camuy, Hatillo,
  Isabela, Lares, Moca, Quebradillas, Rincon and San Sebastian.

* WHEN...Until 500 PM AST.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
  Rises in small streams and normally dry arroyos. Dangerous flows
  over low-water crossings. Water over roadways. Overflowing poor
  drainage areas. Ponding of water in urban or other areas is
  occurring or is imminent.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 139 PM AST, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
    thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
    shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain
    have fallen, with the highest totals in Hatillo, San
    Sebastian, Isabela, and Anasco. This activity will spread
    west-northwestward into coastal municipalities during the
    next hour or so.
  - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expected
    over the area. This additional rain will result in minor
    flooding.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Arecibo, San Sebastian, Quebradillas, Lares, Isabela, Camuy,
    Hatillo, Moca, Aguadilla, Anasco, Las Marias, Aguada, Rincon,
    Hato Arriba, Aceitunas, Rafael Gonzalez, Rafael Capo, Caban,
    Luyando and La Playa.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.

Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law
enforcement and request they pass this information to the National
Weather Service when you can do so safely.
