502 WGCA42 TJSJ 021525 FLWSJU BULLETIN - IMMEDIATE BROADCAST REQUESTED Flood Warning National Weather Service San Juan PR 1125 AM AST Sun Jun 2 2024 PRC103-022000- /O.NEW.TJSJ.FA.W.0032.240602T1525Z-240602T2000Z/ /00000.0.ER.000000T0000Z.000000T0000Z.000000T0000Z.OO/ Naguabo PR- 1125 AM AST Sun Jun 2 2024 ...FLOOD WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 4 PM AST THIS AFTERNOON... * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...Naguabo. * WHEN...Until 400 PM AST. * IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Streams continue to rise due to excess runoff from earlier rainfall. Low-water crossings are inundated with water and may not be passable. Expect many areas of slow moving or standing water. It will take several hours for all the water from these storms to work through local drainage systems in urban areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1120 AM AST, river gauge reports along Rio Blanco at Naguabo has exceeded flood stage (7.3 feet), now around 8 feet, due to excessive runoff from heavy rain. Flood waters are currently affecting portions of road PR-31 and PR-191 near Pitina, which are now impassable, according to local emergency managers. Up to 3 inches of rain have fallen in the area. - Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.5 inches are possible in the warned area. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Stay away or be swept away. River banks and culverts can become unstable and unsafe.
