The areas affected include... Atlantic Waters of Puerto Rico AND USVI from 10 NM to 19.5N... Caribbean Waters of Puerto Rico from 10 NM to 17N, including the Coastal Waters of Saint Croix... Coastal Waters OF Northwestern Puerto Rico out 10 NM... Coastal Waters OF Southwestern Puerto Rico out 10 NM... Coastal Waters east of Puerto Rico, around Vieques, and around and just north of Culebra and Saint John... Coastal Waters from Cabo San Juan to the waters between Anegada Island and Virgin Gorda and North 10 NM... Coastal Waters of Northern Puerto Rico out 10 NM... Coastal Waters of Southern Puerto Rico out 10 NM... Mona Passage Southward to 17N... At 449 PM AST, Doppler radar indicated areas of strong thunderstorm, capable of producing winds to around 30 knots. This thunderstorm were located over mainly over the Mona passage and Caribbean waters between southeast of Puerto Rico and the island of St Croix moving northwest around 20 knots. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Mariners can expect gusty winds to around 30 knots, locally higher waves, lightning strikes, and heavy downpours. Boaters should seek safe harbor immediately until these storms pass. Intense lightning is occurring with this storm.
