...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM OVER THE NEAR SHORE COASTAL WATERS...

The areas affected include...
  Coastal Waters OF Northwestern Puerto Rico out 10 NM...
  Coastal Waters OF Southwestern Puerto Rico out 10 NM...
  Mona Passage Southward to 17N...

At 440 PM AST, Doppler radar indicated a strong thunderstorm,
capable of producing winds to around 30 knots. This thunderstorm was
located just off the west coast between Mayaguez and Anasco
moving west between 10 to 15 knots.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Mariners can expect gusty winds to around 30 knots, locally higher
waves, locally heavy rains and lightning strikes. Boaters should
seek safe harbor immediately until this storm passes.
