297 FNUS75 KSLC 280745 SMFSLC Smoke Management Forecast National Weather Service Salt Lake City Utah 126 AM MDT Tue May 28 2024......ADeSmet .DISCUSSION...High pressure will move off to the east today, and southwest flow will develop between it and an approaching low pressure system and associated cold front. As a result, mixing and associated clearing indicies are expected to be excellent today. On Wednesday, the cold front will approach northern Utah during the morning and move through northern Utah during the afternoon and evening. Showers and thunderstorms will accompany the front but clearing is expected to remain excellent. Behind the front on Thursday, stability will increase across northern and central Utah, with clearing dropping into the Good category. Friday, clearing improves to excellent across central Utah while remaining good across northern Utah.
