...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT NORTHERN LEE COUNTY THROUGH 445
PM EDT...

At 422 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near
Smithville, or 8 miles south of Americus, moving east at 40 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and half inch hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
         possible.

Locations impacted include...
Smithville, Scrutchins, and Chokee.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 1000 PM EDT for
southwestern Georgia.
