Gusty southerly winds will continue through the afternoon today, with gusts near 30mph likely across much of the region. Winds should lessen after sunset, though some sporadic gusts could continue. SPOTTER AND EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT ACTION STATEMENT... Spotter Activation Not Expected. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Tuesday through Sunday. TUESDAY...Severe Thunderstorm Potential...High Wind Potential. WEDNESDAY AND THURSDAY...Severe Thunderstorm Potential...Heavy Rain Potential. FRIDAY AND SATURDAY...Thunderstorm Potential. SUNDAY...Thunderstorm Potential...Heavy Rain Potential. EXTENDED DISCUSSION... Thunderstorm chances will increase late Tuesday and especially Tuesday evening as a cold front moves into the area. Some of the storms will likely be severe with all severe weather hazards possible. This frontal boundary will remain in the vicinity Wednesday and Thursday, with additional rounds of strong to severe storms expected, along with locally heavy rainfall.
