.DISCUSSION...Skies will be variably cloudy today with continued
chances for showers and thunderstorms, mainly early this morning
and again in the afternoon and early evening. High temperatures
will be in the mid 70s to mid 80s, warmest toward south central
South Dakota. Winds will switch to the northwest at 10 to 20 mph
from west to east during the late morning and afternoon hours.
Relative humidities will drop to 25 to 45 percent in the
afternoon, lowest values across far southwest South Dakota.

...LOW FIRE DANGER...

The grassland fire danger index will reach the low category this
afternoon. Favorable weather conditions or a high moisture
content of grasses, and other dry organic material on the ground,
indicate that the probability of a fast moving fire is low.
Outdoor burning under these conditions can usually be performed
with reasonable safety precautions, but should be monitored.

The outlook for Monday afternoon, The grassland fire danger index
will reach the low category.
