.DISCUSSION...

Another round of showers and thunderstorms will be possible today,
especially across northeastern South Dakota and west central
Minnesota. This activity will be mainly widely scattered during the
morning and then become more numerous during the afternoon. No
severe weather is expected today. Strong northwest winds will gust
between 25-35 mph for most areas, although parts of the Missouri
Valley and west river could see gusts as high as 40 mph. Minimum
relative humidity will be lowest along and west of the Missouri
River with values between 35-40 percent.

...LOW FIRE DANGER...

Favorable weather conditions or a high moisture content of grasses,
and other dry organic material on the ground, indicate that the
probability of a fast moving fire is low.  Outdoor burning under
these conditions can usually be performed with reasonable safety
precautions, but should be monitored.


The outlook for Tuesday afternoon...The grassland fire danger index
will reach the low category.
