485 FNAK53 PAFG 021426 FWFAFG Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Interior Alaska National Weather Service Fairbanks AK 626 AM AKDT Sun Jun 2 2024 .DISCUSSION...Today, a shortwave trough will move over the Interior from the east, bringing more widely scattered thunderstorms and some heavier rain showers. Temperatures will be cooler and RHs wetter than the near Red Flag conditions observed yesterday. The focus of thunderstorms today will be along a convergence zone from Nikolai to Manley Hot Springs to Coldfoot and east across the White Mountains and Yukon Flats. The easterly flow pattern with embedded shortwaves will remain quite persistent through the middle of the week. Thunderstorms will be quite wet in nature with heavy showers mixed in as well.
