.DISCUSSION...

Showers and storms move in from the west this morning with periods
of showers and storms through Friday night. Winds today remain
breezy from the south-southeast, with gusts to around 30 mph.
Winds taper off tonight and become light and somewhat variable
into Friday. Temperatures in the 70s today and Friday, but with
showers and storms as well as increasing humidity, minimum RH
values above 55% expected. With lesser rain chances west of the
James River Friday, RHs may dip near 40%.

Expect a brief break in showers and storms during the morning and
afternoon Saturday. However, shower and storm chances return
Saturday night through the early part of next week. Near to above
average temperatures prevail (highs in the 70s and 80s) with
periodically breezy conditions.

...LOW FIRE DANGER...

The Grassland Fire Danger Index will reach the low category
this afternoon. Favorable weather conditions or a high moisture
content of grasses, and other dry organic material on the
ground, indicate that the probability of a fast moving fire is
low. Outdoor burning under these conditions can usually be
with reasonable safety precautions, but should be monitored.

OUTLOOK FOR FRIDAY AFTERNOON...The Grassland Fire Danger Index
will reach the low category.

The grassland fire danger product reflects fire danger for native
grasses. It is not intended for cured agricultural crops, nor
will it reflect conditions in road ditches which have been mowed.
