At 631 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated stationary thunderstorms that produced torrential rainfall from Pleasant Gardens to Marion has ended. Between 2 and 3.5 inches of rain fell in about 2 hours, with the heaviest totals occurring in the city of Marion. As a result, numerous roads were flooded in Marion, including N Main St, S Main St, Morgan St, Courier Ave, and Shop Dr. Floodwaters are receding across the warned area, but several roads and properties remain impacted by high water. The Flash Flood Warning will remain in effect through at least 7pm to allow conditions to improve. Drivers are urged to avoid flooded roadways and obey all barricades, even if water has receded. Floodwaters may have damaged the road surface and may not be able to support the weight of vehicles. Stay away from area streams and avoid being swept away by high flows.
