...A THUNDERSTORM WITH TORRENTIAL RAINFALL WILL IMPACT NORTHWESTERN
CALDWELL COUNTY UNTIL 245 PM EDT...

At 137 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a thunderstorm with
torrential rainfall 6 miles south of Blowing Rock, or 5 miles south
of Blowing Rock In Caldwell County. This storm was nearly stationary.

Locations to be impacted include...
Edgemont, Globe, and Upton.

Very heavy rainfall rates up to 2 inches per hour will be possible in
these areas.

Interests around Johns River should remain on the lookout for
possible quick rises in water levels. Low lying areas will also be
prone to localized flooding.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Torrential rainfall may flood areas with poor drainage, such as
ditches and underpasses. Avoid these areas and do not cross flooded
roads. Water levels of small streams may also rise rapidly. Seek
higher ground if threatened by flood waters.
