Waters from Surf City to Cape Fear NC from 20 to 40 nm... * Until 715 PM EDT. * At 619 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing waterspouts was located over Buoy Off Carolina Beach, moving southeast at 20 knots. HAZARD...Waterspouts, wind gusts 34 knots or greater, and large hail. SOURCE...Radar. IMPACT...Waterspouts can easily overturn boats and create locally hazardous seas.
