SOUTHWESTERN AUGLAIZE...MERCER...NORTHEASTERN WARREN...NORTHWESTERN CLINTON...GREENE...MONTGOMERY AND MIAMI COUNTIES THROUGH 400 PM EDT... At 254 PM EDT, strong thunderstorms were located along a line extending from near Winchester to near Waynesville, moving north at 40 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 45 mph, frequent cloud-to-ground lightning, and very heavy rain. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Lightning can cause serious injury or death. Visibility will be poor and hydroplaning is possible. Locations impacted include... Dayton, Springfield, Kettering, Beavercreek, Huber Heights, Fairborn, Xenia, Troy, Trotwood, Sidney, Piqua, Vandalia, Englewood, Greenville, Urbana, Celina, Tipp City, St. Marys, Bellbrook, and Moraine. This includes the following Interstates... I-70 in Ohio between mile markers 16 and 67. I-71 in Ohio between mile markers 45 and 49. I-75 in Ohio between mile markers 46 and 103. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a sturdy building. Motorists should slow down and use extra caution. When thunder roars, go indoors! Do not stay in the open or seek shelter under trees when lightning threatens. If on or near area lakes, get out of the water and move indoors or inside a vehicle.
